Logitech room solutions for Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTRs)

Logitech has taken a similar approach to Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTRs) as Yealink, in that they have a NUC PC (running the MTR application) and a 1280 x 800 touch screen Logitech Tap room control which is common in all video conferencing systems. Different cameras and audio devices can be specified to customise a room solution appropriate for the modern workplace.

The major advantage of this approach is that users have a common user experience regardless of the room type or size.

PROS

– A well-known brand that is a trusted manufacturer of PC peripherals and hardware.

– A common base unit with camera options for different-sized rooms.

– Can be integrated with 3^rd party hardware and equipment for a custom Logitech tap room solution.

CONS

– Limited camera options for all room sizes.

– No solution for the largest spaces such as auditoriums. Only one PTZ camera is supported – other manufacturers offer up to nine cameras so all meeting participants are seen clearly.
